Artlantis is quicker to render. Maxwell requires a lot of computer power for animations.

<T>I have been producing flythrough's rendered with Lightworks, and want to take it to the next level and get more photorealistic results.

Having looked through many posts on here and discussions of whats best; Maxwell or Artlantis, it seems (to me), there is little to choose between the two?

Has anyone an opinion with specific regard to rendering for flythrough's?</T>

I actually purchased a Maxwell Render License this Monday. I have completed some initial renders and found it extremely proficient. Way beyond anything I have previously produced in Lightworks. Just having some teething problems with flythroughs, in exporting to Maxwell through the ArchiCAD Plugin.

Maxwell gives outstanding results, the best in my opinion. How is the flythrough rendering timing?

Herein lies the problem! I am having issues exporting to maxwell files for post rendering. I am working with the AC Plugin, have read the suggested workflow but I am getting an error stating that Maxwell cannot find the .mxs file. This would be correct, as ArchiCAD seems not to be exporting.?

All fixed...

regarding the rendering times... there is a lot of flexibility in the settings. I am currently experimenting with render times per frame to see what results we get.

The problem was with the Scene Name in the Photo Rendering Settings.

It auto filled in the file name but without the first number number in the series of image files (eg: filename0000).

After manually entering the correct file name in the series, the process ran smoothly.

This produced a batch of mxl files. I then dropped all these files into a new folder, and instructed Quick Time Pro to use this sequence to produce my flythrough (again, by just pointing to the first file in the sequence).
