Begin by opening the material settings:&lt;BR /&gt;
&amp;gt;Options &amp;gt;Element Attributes &amp;gt;Materials&lt;BR /&gt;
&lt;BR /&gt;
Pay careful attention to the mode in the "Create Preview with:" box.&lt;BR /&gt;
in OpenGL preview, open the "exposure to Light" panel and change the shinniness.&lt;BR /&gt;
in Lightworks preview, open &amp;gt;Lightworks Shader Settings &amp;gt;Reflectance.&lt;BR /&gt;
in the Reflectance class, the Shader will be something like "conductor" or other,&lt;BR /&gt;
you are looking for the parameter called "mirror".  Increase that.&lt;BR /&gt;
&lt;BR /&gt;

      <description>Y'wanna know something odd? Whenever I try to create reflecting object, it comes out off color whenever I try to render the image/footage. Any idea why this is?       <description>Not odd at all.  Reflectance by definition means "taking on the properties&lt;BR /&gt;
from incident objects" and in particular the color of either the Sun, the sky, &lt;BR /&gt;
or the color of lamps, if any.  This is the way it is intended.  Think of mirrors.&lt;BR /&gt;
&lt;BR /&gt;
What are you trying to achieve?  Describe the goal, not the tool you are&lt;BR /&gt;
 using.  There are many ways to achieve each goal, but if you ask&lt;BR /&gt;
about a specific tool, the only answers you get will be limited to that.&lt;BR /&gt;
&lt;BR /&gt;
Best of all, include an image of the offending render or 3D window. . .&lt;BR /&gt;
&lt;BR /&gt;

      <description>Here's a tip about Sun color and renderings:&lt;BR /&gt;
&lt;BR /&gt;
The color temperature of the Sun can be white, or cold/blue or warm/red.&lt;BR /&gt;
Controlling the Sun will improve your color balance in renderings.&lt;BR /&gt;
&lt;BR /&gt;

Change the Sun and ambient colors here &amp;gt;View &amp;gt;3D view Mode &amp;gt; 3D projection Settings.&lt;BR /&gt;

PS One final note:  Your monitor and printer have color calibration.&lt;BR /&gt;

&lt;BR /&gt;
Using the sun color controls found in the Sun Dialog combined with the Color Temperature control gets unpredictable results.&lt;BR /&gt;
&lt;BR /&gt;
Color Temperature should always be set to 0.00 - the default&lt;BR /&gt;
&lt;BR /&gt;
Control the sun color only through the Sun Dialog.&lt;BR /&gt;
&lt;BR /&gt;
For most situations, sun color should be slightly yellow, depending on the degree of sky pollution at the site, and ambient should be light blue. If matching a context photo, sun color can be found by sampling a white surface that is not over-exposed.</description>

In my experience cool Sun temps shade every object in the view cooler,&lt;BR /&gt;
and vice versa.   3D LW Sun controls work for me.   What am I missing?&lt;BR /&gt;

Certainly, if you have white sunlight in the sun control, the color temperature approach works. But you should never use white sunlight unless performing a rendering in Lower Hutt, New Zealand where the sky is so pure and clear that the sun seems white. In other places it ranges from yello to brown.&lt;BR /&gt;
&lt;BR /&gt;
However, beginners often get involved adjusting both color control tools and the combined controls can produce unanticipated results. Also, when using the so-called "Realistic Sun", there's no color temperature control, so adjustments made in the Photorendering Sun–Sun window can be forgotten.&lt;BR /&gt;
&lt;BR /&gt;
My experience is that by tinting the sun yello and tinting the ambient blue, pleasant, plausible results can occur.</description>

@alexandros27: A quick and dirty way that I sometimes use to add shine to a surface (rendered in LW) is to apply one of the preset lightworks materials, specifically the ones under &lt;U&gt;&lt;/U&gt;&lt;S&gt;&lt;U&gt;&lt;U&gt;&lt;/U&gt;&lt;/U&gt;&lt;/S&gt;ray tracing/plastics and polymers/ppe&lt;E&gt;&lt;/E&gt;. Color may be tweaked to suit your needs.&lt;BR /&gt;
&lt;BR /&gt;
See attached image for reference. The object on the right has the applied lightworks material setting and the object on the left has none.&lt;BR /&gt;
&lt;BR /&gt;
For a little bit of shine, it gets the job done. There are many other ways to achieve "shine" depending on preference.
