topic ArchiCAD Photo Rendering in Visualization

<T>I am a Student my final assignment is a Photo rendering using a Photo of an existing site and a model I create in ArchiCAD.

I am trying to sort out the best method to do this. I do not have access to a photoeditor. So I am prepared to fluff around with it a little in ArchiCAD.

I can generate an rendered image of the model that looks ok (i'll tweak it later) against the background digital photo of my site. But how do I get to re-size it and tweak it to fit accuratly in the picture.

Is there any tutorial or sort of information on doing this sort of thing ie: Rendering with a photo? The manual is hard work because it has so much information on each command and so little on the context of when and how each command is utilised.

Regards Kiri</T>

"Align View" is of little use unless the site is flat and there are vertical planes adjacent to align against.

Your best bet is to place the camera in Archicad where you determine the photo was taken and adjust manually from there on.

Too bad that you don't have a photo editor.

Although I have Photoshop for more complex adjustments, I use Paint.net
for lots of simple stuff, it even has layers and curves that work ok.
By the way, it's much faster (and FREE) if you want a quick basic photo editing tool.
You can get it here.
