Thanks Steve, i've been trying mw 2.5 and it is indeed a great release.

However, I think there's a little bug with the AC plugin:

If you try to attach a material created with the 2.5 it will not show up in the material explorer in archicad, if this material is created with a version prior to 2.5 than it will show up...

<T>I just tested the ArchiCAD plug-in with the Maxwell Render 2.5 upgrade. It works just fine for me.</T>

More indepth analysis :

Two important new features related to maxwell 2.5 are :
- the fire engine (Fast Interactive REndering) the main evoltion is this one as it brings a realtime rendering engine as demoed in http://maxwellrender.com/
- the draft render option.

the ArchiCAD plugin has not been updated ( yet ?!) to integrate those two new features .

And while waiting for the plugin's update, here are the possible workflows:

- for the fire engine .......the only workflow now is to export to Maxwell studio and lunch the fire interactive engine from there

- maxwell gives now the possibility to have what they called "draft rendering" which faster than the "production one".it intended to be used as a preview one and gives already very good results ( actually it is the one fire engine uses ) .......for this one there is a way to lunch it directly through Archicad plugin by entering "-rs:0" in the command line, you can get back to the default one by entering " -d -p:low "( this workflow is the same for the sketchup plugin...it is how i know it could be done in Archicad Anyway <E>😉</E> ) . another option is to enable this mode in the render window options ...
