It i not dpi but the total pixels that matters. A thumbnail image can be 200dpi at 1"x1". The image size is defined in the rendering settings. You can also set the dpi there but it is just a value that indicates the intended output size to some programs. Some ignore this and all can override it. How big do you want the overall image? There are some limits on the max rendering size but I forget what they are.

<T>Hi everyone,
I need to try and export a .tiff file with at least 200 dpi resolution.

I'm using ArchiCad 12 for this project. I cannot find where you can set the resolution for the exported file.

Thank you!

The standard rule is size x dpi.

If you need a 8"x8" image at 200 DPI it is a 1600px by 1600px image.

You should never go less than 150dpi or need to go higher than 600

Yeah sorry I expressed myself rather poorly...

I don't need a rendering in this case. I need to export the layout of this post: <LINK_TEXT text="http://archicad-talk.graphisoft.com/vie ... hp?t=35413">http://archicad-talk.graphisoft.com/viewtopic.php?t=35413</LINK_TEXT> as a .tiff image.

I want to export the .tif file from the layout. The image has to be 26,0x40,5 cm at 200dpi which makes it 2047x3189 pixels.

How do I get that from a layout?

Thanks!

Easiest way is to save as pdf and open the pdf in an image program and rasterize. There you can set DPI and Size of the image.

Programs that can do this are in Mac:

1. Photoshop - $700Us
2. Acorn - $30
3. Pixelmator - $30 (special price)
4. The Gimp - free
