<T>In previous versions, I could create a view from a camera and, when I moved the camera, the view would also change positions. This no longer seems to be the case in 20. Now, the created views no longer seemed to be linked to the camera views. Is there a new setting or something I am missing?</T>

I checked this and it was working in AC19.
And indeed, it doesn't work in AC20.
I will report this to GRAPHISOFT.

In the meantime, you can activate the saved View, then go back to the Floor Plan, move the Camera, then right-click the Camera and Show All in 3D.
The 3D View is changed in its TAB. Right-click the TAB and click the Save View command. This way the View will be updated with the new Camera location.

Just ran into this today..

Similarly, I just edited the camera, went to 3d window and right clicked the VIEW MAP entry setting... Use the big ole button that says UPDATE VIEW WITH CURRENT 3d WINDOW and it updates.

I like the TAB idea though... Never would have thought to go there.

Loosely related...

I have forever uses the CAMERA PATH to start a MOVIE of the KEYFRAMES to allow me to render several views overnight...

I know used the PUBLISHER with the VIEWS of 3d renders as set up in the Navigator...

My issue is that I cannot tell the 3d window to RESET / REBUILD with all my POSTCARD PLANTS using this method...

Bugger...

I can envision my only work around to be including a BOGUS render in between each that turns of the plant layers... Then turns back on for the subsequent render in which the 3d will be forced to REBUILD with those layers.

Any input is welcome!
Same problem here. In ver 20 you always need a couple of extra clicks. So troublesome.

Hi All, we have reproduced this issue and entered it to our defects database. It has a high priority and is planned to be corrected. As a workaround, we suggest to follow Laszlo Nagy's steps:
In the meantime, you can activate the saved View, then go back to the Floor Plan, move the Camera, then right-click the Camera and Show All in 3D.
The 3D View is changed in its TAB. Right-click the TAB and click the Save View command. This way the View will be updated with the new Camera location.

I am working in AC21 and this still doesn't seem to be fixed unless I am missing something. This is very inconvenient. I used to be able to set one camera (viewpoint) and show multiple types of views based on that one camera angle. For instance, from the same camera angle I could show the model in white model, color, different shadowing based on the time of year, with and without trees, etc by cloning the camera multiple times in the view map and then changing the view map settings. If I changed the camera, all of the view map views were updated. I can't figure out how to do this anymore and if this is even an option in the newer versions.

Working in AC22 and this still does not work. It would be super useful to have the exact same view for multiple renovation layers, graphic overrides, layer combinations etc, and be able to change the angle for all of them at once. Anyone have a better method than updating them one by one?

Hi,

Does anyone know if this issue is still going to be fixed? 🤔

In Archicad 24 and 26, it appears to still be broken. There is that work around with more clicks mentioned above, but when adding in new cameras/modifying views (especially internal cameras) constantly, it is quite a pain for it to not automatically take effect in the View map.

Thanks!

No fix yet, and by the looks of it I think it never will be. It has been reported to Graphisoft years ago and more and more people use third party rendering software with its own view management. I wouldn't hold my breath, but rather find workarounds.
