<T>Please help

This is only simple example:

Let’s say I have a 10ft long and 10 ft high wall
Consisted of 1/2" gyp Board
2 1/2" steel stud
And another 1/2" gyp Board

Could IS calculate square footage of drywall only.

Thank you

Kind of.... you can get the surface area of the wall, but Archicad will not directly generate a report of drywall only <E>😞</E>

I'm not sure about the IS, but the calculate functions and properties can do just about anything you want (if you have a spare lifetime to figure them out).

The IS cannot do what you want in any general way. You would have to do post-processing in Excel/Access/Filemaker etc. For example, you could generate a schedule that contains the composite name and the surface area ... and then in your external manipulation, match the composite with a formula that doubles the surface area for a wall with gyp on both sides. Etc. A pain.

As Matthew notes, the list schemes of the Calculate menu are what were designed (back in 6.5 or so) for generating take-offs from composites. A Property Object is associated with the composite walls and generates the appropriate components that comprise the assembly: area of gyp board, studs, etc. Use the forum search for 'property object', 'property script', 'composite takeoff', etc. for more info.

You might raise other related questions in the Calculate forum. <E>😉</E>
