Udating publisher drawings

I have a publisher set that I made a couple of weeks ago. A bunch of the layouts have changed. Does publisher update automatically, or is there some way to update. Or do I delete, then redo the layouts to publisher? Seems like an old school way to do it.

Publisher is always using the current layout content. All the publisher does is remember your settings, not the actual drawing content

So if I update the layout book and then go directly to the publisher, save the selection to a different format , it will reflect the new format. If I understand correctly, I do not have to delete the older layout from the publisher, then transfer the new layout to the publisher. I skip one step.

I should just try it.

The best idea IMHO is to have multiple Publisher sets, to save you redefining them all of the time. When creating them, be sure to use the Add Shortcut>>> button as opposed to just dragging the views/ layouts/ subset over. This will effectively 'clone' those items, so that for example if you add a new layout to a subset, it will appear in your cloned Publisher set too.

Once you have one Publisher set completed, you can use your Organizer to clone it. Just activate the Publisher on both sides of the Organzer, with your original Publisher set on the left and the new set on the right. Then use the Copy Item>>> button to make clones of the selected folders. If you want to copy the entire set, it will be easier if you create one folder in the original Publisher set with all your views placed in it and then just copy that.

I have always wished to be able to clone viewsets from within the view map. And clone subsets of the layout book, or indeed the entire layout book. This way we could clone a layout book and change the clone's publishing properties. For example, we could have one publishing set for A1 and a clone for A2 - any change made to one viewset would update in the other. This is much more useful than the existing functionality IMHO, where we have to manually rebuild the entire Publishing set for A2. If cloning is needed anywhere, it is needed at this point in the process!
