exporting DWG...

Hi, i need to export drawings to AutoCAD and i don't want a wipeout in every hatch.
I have tried to click the "export archicad backgrounds as additional solid fills" on and off, but always the dwg shows Wipeout hatchs... an the file become too big and hard to handle.

help me please !!!

I got that by making a Model View Option that made all background fills transparent. Since you are publishing from a defined view (right?), you can assign the MVO to the view, which the translator then uses to create a dwg with no background fills at all.

I am just about (for the first time with AC) to have to issue lots of translated drawings to consultants, designing subs, and manufacturers in AutoCAD format.
It hadn't occurred to me that all the fills/tones/hatchings would convert to vectors but I suppose that is inevitable.
My plan was to send a full set of "drawings" in pdf, so they could see what each "view" is supposed to look like in full colour and heavily toned/textured.
Essentially, the dxf versions were going to be simple floor by floor plans plus a full set of elevation/sections along with any job specifics as cropped views.

Sorry to impose, but could you - for a virtual layman - expand a little on your quoted comment, particularly with reference to MVO and "defined view (right?)".

I have a secondary problem which you may also be able to advise me on. Whilst most of the output will be going to ACad2007, for which the default translation is set, I have some who are on ACad2004 (or even LT2002) and they have not been able to open the simple test dxf drawings I have sent. So, along with killing the unwanted vectors, how do I tweek the settings to output dxf for 2004, please?

The item in question is the M odel V iew O ptions where you would define one view set for export that had all the fills turned off because there is no option in the DWG DXF Translation Setup window to turn them off. ALso you should not have to use dxf as an option for your export since AC publishes to dwg. BTW DXF is a backup format for when nothing else works since it is very simple and text and other objects will behave badly. For the different flavors of Autocad you can set the translator settings to the 2000 version and any Release of AutoCAD since R2000 will be able to open them.
