<R>Yesterday, this was released for the Mac. It looks quite powerful! I has framing and the integrated roof soffits. In archicad I always have to fake the roof soffits with other elements and draw them on their own story since thed don't quite fit with the schema of Archicad workflow.

After two years I have realized Archicad is a generic modeller and will never be focused on residential and the plug-ins availabe are not that specific to my region, especially since they are developed in New Zealand there will be lots of work arounds needed.

I'm sure you would have to check it out carefully because you usually get what you pay for. Maybe this is a unique case! ('<EMOJI seq="1f609"></EMOJI>')

I might have an unusual perspective. I am acutely aware how many stock plans are redrawn.. ie..ripped off. For the average builder this type of software makes things all the more easy... integrity is not much of an issue with many. Such is life:)

Such powerful and cheap software puts amazing power in the hands of the average builder or homeowner to create monstrosities. I think if any of them care about the quality then they realize it is better to hire someone who knows what they are doing. You would not want to work with someone who did not know the difference anyway. There is enough work to go around for everyone.

So, let this discussion be about the merits of this $150 software compared to Archicad. I called the customer support line for Punch and they have a money back guarantee. It is avaliable on amazon for $125 or so.

Oh Well! Rashid just posted a link to a discussion about Punch vs Chief. I know they are biased but at least they compared it to Chief. I will cross it off my list. Topic Closed ..
