<R>I took a new job. Unfortunately, after many happy years using ArchiCAD, its back to flatland for me. Being a conscientious new employee I thought I'd join the AutoCAD user group and re-familiarize myself with the words and terms of their world.

Helpful advice like;

"Another solution I thought of this morning included adjustments to the VISRETAIN variable. Create a temporary layer state, adjust VISRETAIN to 0, reload the xref, return the VISRETAIN to 1, restore the temporary layer state with the exception of the plot/no plot setting, and then delete the temporary layer state if desired."

makes me <shudder>.

sigh.
You could use the occasion to improve your DWG import/export translators and see if you have tweak ArchiCAD to generate faithful AutoCAD drawings for your company standard.
