David, thanks for the quick reply. Actually I want my drawings to be "Paper space with Cropped View's content", and "Linked Xref drawings".

This has been working fine until V12, placing my layouts into DWG paper space with xrefs showing my views. All the xrefs of my views were put into a folder called "XREF". Which is exactly what I want (more or less).

Since V13, there is an extra folder inside of "XREF", called "Model Xref". In this new folder, there are all the dwg files that I IMPORTED into archicad as a reference, which I don't want in my final output. I know it's a bit confusing. For my output, I only want to show my content created in archicad, not the reference dwgs I xref'ed in to work off of.

Hope that's a little clearer.

<R>I believe this is a new thing since V13. When I publish my layouts to dwg for consultants, AC creates a "Model Xrefs" folder and puts a copy of all my xref drawings that I attached to the file for reference.

I've tried this with the xref on a story as well as on a worksheet. They all get published.

Usually these xrefs are for my reference to create my model, so I don't need them to be exported along with my sheets. Is there a way to turn this off so that it only publishes what's on my layouts? Otherwise I just have to remember to delete this folder manually after the publishing is done.</R>

You can select "Save Layout into:" "Paper Space with Drawing as Blocks".

This will embed the drawings as AutoCAD Blocks (not X-Refs). Of course the consultant would have to explode them on their end.

If you want to keep the drawings as editable DWGs, you can select "Place Drawings into:" "Single DXF/DWG file". Then you will only have one referenced file.

Ah,... Are the X-Refs inserted as "Attached" or "Overlay"? That may influence the way the exported file treats the X-Refs - It has been a while since I had to deal with X-Refs, so I am just throwing out suggestions.

I know that AC13 handles X-Refs differently than previous versions to allow for better in-file control. I'll need to play around with the X-Ref functions in AC13 to better understand the file handling.

Since you don't want to export the X-Refs, can't you just delete the unwanted folder and drawings after the export? Again, just throwing out suggestions.
