archicad to 3d studio max

Hi there! I'm new here and i have some problems exporting the archicad files to 3d studio max!

Does anyone out there know the best way to export from archicad to 3ds max and be able to separate the layers i.e. seperating the wall from the windows and doors, and at the same time keeping the units intact.
That is to use max materials for windows and glass for example!

If anyone know the best way of doing this your help would me much appriciated

Bok, bok ljudi,

Jel ima neki posla u hrvatskoj? Ja bi se htio vratiti. Idealno bi bilo arhitekt ko koristi archicad. 3 1/2 godina SAD-a mi je dosto. Sve smo vidjeli kaj sam mogli ali ipak hrvatska je hrvatska ne. Ajde please ako znate nekoga ko bi mogao bit zainteresiran, molim vas, javi te se.

Ima ovdje posla u arhitekturi koliko hoćeš. Samo je pitanje dali ćeš nakon amerike biti zadovoljan sa hrvatskom plaćom.

Fairly usual for native English speakers ... rarely speak another language, and if they do, mostly it is very noticeable that they are native ENglish speakers - like French or Italian speaking English 😉

Is there a place where I can find that above link (posted in the beginning of this threat) in either Bulgarian, German or English (english is my native toungue, so the easiest- *wink*)???

I can sort of follow along, but naturally it would be easier if there is an english version, for me. I'm working on it in the meantime (the pictures help...kind of like in pre-primiary school...us artists, you know, we like our picture presentations...)

Ahh.. scratch that. Installation and setup was about has hard as plugging in the mouse- to a front-USB pannel as well. You DL the ML_archiCAD-Wiz, unzip it, copy the actual file into any VIZ window in 3dsm and then you get a pop up or two (I forget) to set it up for importing/exporting. look at the pics in the DL link for references, though it's all automated, pretty much- least all the necessary stuff. Leave everything checked as it is, least till you know better, and you can import no problems.

Wonderful. Just what I needed!

how for those DWG files, eh?
