Great, thank you, it worked.

It would be nice if the translators were saved in a centralized location that everyone could access, so that if the translator gets changed it is changed for everyone without having to remember to resend the new translator out (We have enough to remember already...).

<T>I created a custom translator and I'm working in teamwork. A coworker wants to export some .dwg's and use the translator I created. The translator saves to my translator folder on my computer, and although I can share that folder and he can browse to it and see it, it's grayed out and he cannot select it.

How do you share translators?</T>

Try giving the XML file to the other guy so he can put it in is own folder on his own computer.
Make sure the file is not locked or something.
You can see the location of the XML file in the Dialog.

You can move those XML files to another location and then Browse for them from our DWG/DXF Translation Setup Dialog.
You can do this in all ArchiCAD instances.

Actually, it is possible to create custom install packages for ArchiCAD. In such a custom package you can set the DWG/DXF folders to a network location and all installed instances will use those same folders.
BIM Managers are probably using this option.

I save my default translators in the office library.
Along with schedules, atribute files, Model View Options, favourites and Work Environments.
That way I can keep them all updated in one central source and know that everyone has them available on their local machines.
They won't update automatically on the local machines but they are available to re-import at any time.
