I simply created (1) wall 29'-0" long x 10'-0" high and added the wall accessory. When I run the Lumber list, I get:

3 | 1st Floor | 40 x 0 x 0'- 0" | 3.000 | ea.
3 | 1st Floor | LUMBER OVERALL | 0.000 | Bdft
---------|-----------|------------------|-------------|-----
| | | |

Version 8.1 work fine.
We are running V9-Build 1812 on P4-2gz w/ 2MB Ram.
I've tried starting a new file with default settings, but it doesn't make any difference. I've tried other workstations within our office, but still no success.

Let me know what additional you may need to assist us.
Thanks

I am having trouble calculating lumber quantities.

After using "Wall Framing" in "Wall Accessories" under the "Extras" menu,
I go to the "Calculate" menu and select "Lumber Pack".

This is the result :

4 | Main | 40 x 0 x 0'- 0" | 4.000 | ea.
4 | Main | LUMBER OVERALL | 0.000 | Bdft
Lumber Pack is a list set in the US edition and is supposed to work with the AC wall framing accessory.

Aaron,
How did you accomplish this? What methods and data are you pulling from your drawing? Could you give a sample?

Edit: as far as I'm aware of, the current version for ArchiCAD 9 is 2172. Is there a newer patch out in beta form?

Edit2: So. . .I updated to the SE9 library, and ran the AC9 Special Edition StartUp.tpl and tried the Lumber Pack Calculation util from the Calculate menu. . I still get the infamous,
4 | Main | 40 x 0 x 0'- 0" | 4.000 | ea.
4 | Main | LUMBER OVERALL | 0.000 | Bdft
---------|------|------------------|-------------|-----
data string. . .

what I was trying to say is that Lumber Pack is broken. It wrked with the R1 release of version 9 and probably the second, but the latest build - 2172 - has busted it all to splinters.

i guess then that I could also say, revert your ArchiCAD installation back to the version as issued on the CD and it should work then.

draw a wall, go to extras, wall accessories, wall framing, click on the wall, go to calculate menu, find lumber pack and presto.....
