Just confirmed this behavior. Seems really odd that it would have been changed. I do not see any options that would cause the hotspots to be ignored - so either an intentional change for some mysterious reason, or a bug.

Maybe someone else has an idea?

PS On my Mac, the free eDrawings viewer does not show the dxf points even when they are there. I had to copy the dxf file to Windows to run the free DWG TrueView viewer to see the hotspots from 10 ... and confirm that they are missing from the 14 export.

<T>Using Archicad 10 i can dxf export archicad hotspots and i can see them as points in autocad. I can't do this using archicad 13 or archicad 14.
This is very usefull when you want to import dxf plans to topcon total stations and you want points too there.
Is there a way to export archicad hotspots converting them to autocad points with archicad 13 or 14 or is it a bug in software so i have to use archicad 10 to do this?</T>

Hello ArchiCAD Talkers!

I am having the same problem in ArchiCAD 17, even though according to the help files, Hotspots should convert to AutoCAD points when exporting.

When I open a building-survey dwg file, ArchiCAD lets me convert AutoCAD points into Hotspots, as per the open option setting in the translator, but when I then try to save a new dwg file from there, the points disappear during the export process.

It is as if they are not being converted, erased, lost in translation...

AutoCAD viewports were set up for each floor plan inside the surveyor’s file and can be set to come into ArchiCAD as views.

These views can be saved as individual dwg files and can then be inserted as Xrefs into the ArchiCAD project. The only problem is that the points are not there…

I know that individual dwg files could be created by the surveyor from AutoCAD so that the points come through but that’s cheating! Isn’t it?

I think I should be able to do this myself from ArchiCAD and not ‘lose the points’ which, by the way, are quite useful for knowing what you are snapping to when tracing over.

I hope this makes sense and if anybody has got any advice on how to correct this, it would be much appreciated.

Thanks,
