<T>Hi All,

How do you generate interactive colour legends from
zones in archicad?

When zones are defined on the floor flan, I would like
to auto generate a colour legend side by side with the
the floor plan. When zones are added or subtracted,
this should auto update. (AC13 , WIN XP)

For a legend you can use the schedule and it will interactively show the used categories and total area's, but there is one downside: it cannot show its color. You can have however get the name of the fill, but I don't think that will solve the problem.
I thank you all for your quick responses.
I think we can resolve this by perhaps
writing a GDL script that would perform
this task.
Hi

This sounds like a good idea. Maybe we need to explore more about
creating custom interactive schedules that would give us zonal colour
coding, areas, inventory, room data all in one schedule.
Apologies for not checking as I usually do ... but wonder if a trick I did a few years ago here with Excel wouldn't work? At that time, I scheduled the RGB color values for pen tables (0-255 for each of R, G and B), exported the result to Excel - and wrote a tiny Excel VBA function to convert those values to become the background color for cells in the spreadsheet. If the zone can obtain its RGB color values so that they can be included in the schedule, this would be a workaround for now...

PS Why I seem to have no time when I have no work, and lots of time when I'm working is one of those great mysteries of life... <E>😉</E>
I think the zone color RGB is not available in GDL with
REQUEST or any other way. In addition the color is not
using pen charts, so needs some kind of office standards
to know which zone is using which RGB.

it took them 7 years! AC 21 and AC 22 have the ability to use in schedules. Within your schedule you need to add this field "Surface Color (Swatch)" the color itself is coming from the Model display of your Zone (Object settings).

Not that I know of.

The '2D plan preview' does not work with a fill (I don't know why not, they are 2D elements) and the surface colour swatch is only for surface schedules and 2D elements aren't allowed in surface schedules.
