!Restored: Need structural program?

<T>Anyone have any ideas for a basic structural program? I once used the free one from Truss Joist McMillian, and maybe that is the way to go again, if is is still available. I stopped because I am on a Mac, but now I can use Boot Camp, so the sky is the limit, but free (or cheap) is nicer. All I need to do is some basic sizing of wood members (beams, slopped valley rafters etc). The problem with the Truss Joist program is that it spits out their product, and you have to convert to sawn lumber to see if something simple will work. Not a hard step, but I would rather get sawn options.

thanks</T>

You might check into Woodworks and BeamCheck software. they may be a good low-cost solution for you.
You can also find a few calculators here: http://www.awc.org

Hi Richard
So far, do you think it seems to comply with our new 2007 CBC spans?
I did download demo today, but would appreciate your general opinion regarding Calif's new code family we are on.
Thanks
