Oh, I'm sorry, I just read your post more carefully and you want some background pens to survive the export.

Well I expect…

What about using a solid fill?

You suggest drawing an extra yellow fill rather than using the background of hatching, right?
That's what I'll like to avoid.

<T>Hi
With the new multiple pen settings in AC10, the templates use a lot of different pens for white background fills (walls, windows, doors, objects…)
If you translate to DWG, you got a pen 255 (white), that disturbs the representation in AutoCAD because the black is converted to pen 7 which is also white with a black screen, a setting most AutoCAD users have.
To overcome this problem AFAIK(and I successfully used it this way by now), AC has the -1 pen. But how can I ask the translator to affect the -1 to all theses white background. I do not want to turn off the export of background fills, they are important to the graphic quality of the drawings.</T>

Thanks
Maybe a precision. I know how to keep all background and export them as wipe-out (display option).
The problem is if you have mask background (export as wipe-out) and coloured background that you want also to export (typically, we use the yellow fill for demolition in renovation). The -1 pen is (was) the solution but with new pen palettes, AFAIK, we are supposed to correct every object manually, one by one. I just expect an option that tells Ac "if the background is white, export it as wipe-out".

I have the impression (illusion?) that this is possible with the Display/Model View Options. Doesn't this setting do the trick for DWG output?
Did you find anything? Actually, I only found these choices:
1.	turn the display option to "window background colour", export will be correct for all mask background fills (white) and you loose others coloured background fills
2.	turn the display option to "by element setting" and you will have to change all background fills (walls, beams, object…) from white (AC default setting) to -1
Any suggestion to turn all these white masks to -1?
Or any explanation why using white colour as a mask instead of -1 (patches like)?
