<R>Thought this might be of some interest to those who deal with the structural aspects of their AC model/C.D's. as I do.
Simpson has a new bolt together moment frame system.
I've already got my Engineer on board with two of them for residential remodel I'm currently working on.
In just a few minutes you can essentially design your own bolt together
M.F. and know the load values!
Thanks Lec. I haven't used these yet but have used the shear walls which are also very handy in some locations.

<S></S>http://www.strongtie.com/products/strongwall/index.asp<E></E>

The only downside other than cost to these solutions for residential is that it is a little difficult to get enough insulation into the wall where these things are located. At least up here in the great white north where we need R-20 in the walls.
