Try loading the Standard Profile 14 in the Work Environment, or adding the Place Mesh from Surveyors Data... command into your Work Environment.

<T>I am trying to come to grips with the new tools for input of surveyors 3D information in AC14.

The Help menu guide says to click "Design > Place mesh from from surveyors data", but I can not find anything like that in the Design menu, or anywhere else.

Where do I find this tool, and what do I do?

Another related question is, how do I deal with a 3D .DXF file from the surveyor? The help guide only talks about .txt or .xyz files.</T>

I have same problem. Peter Clark had solved it:

If you imported your work environment from AC13, you will have to add this command to the menu manually to be able to use it.

I use a .txt file with x,y,z coordinates from the survey. Example:
001 390378.445 96360.296 172.47
002 390379.748 96367.614 170.42
003 390381.026 96370.818 171.36
004 390377.353 96377.913 171.43
005 390375.685 96381.351 172.52
006 390376.949 96390.973 171.24
007 390373.487 96400.761 169.97
008 390374.776 96411.821 167.19
009 390383.299 96407.991 166.84
010 390381.567 96399.676 167.45

I have used that command, is very quick, but the result is somwhat strange (see the attached example):
1. the hight of point 1=-1000, point 2=-5000 (???)
2. if I change z value of the point 2, it is the point 1 that moves (???)

Maybe some other user can explain these?
