Hi! An exact definition is needed for the translator to "know" what elements will be represented on the exported DWG Layer: to which ARCHICAD layer they belong and what Renovation status they have. If it is defined, the elements will be displayed properly on the new custom DWG layers after the export. If not, the layer names used in ARCHICAD originally will be used for the DWG layer names.

So e.g. for an existing column in ARCHICAD, which is on the Structural – Bearing Layer, you should choose this certain layer for the ARCHICAD side and also set its Renovation status to Existing in the ”Edit the layer conversion item” dialog box. For this combination you can define a new name on the Dxf/DWG Side. You should do this for all elements which you would like to have on a custom DWG layer. Please also see the pic.

<R>Good afternoon!
I looked after a question like this and couldn't find, sorry if it is another one.

The fact is that I'm setting a new translator for the office wich I work for and there is a personal template for Archicad. I'm trying to make the layers from Archicad to be exported as my country recommendations for AUTOCAD so I put:

Methods - Create Layers according to: ArchiCAD Layers
and
Windows and Doors with a Layer name that I want

also

Layer Name Conversion - check on costume tag
with the panel to choose the ArchiCAD Layer wrote on template -> wrote the DWG Layer that I want

I thought was enough but the truth is that when I publish a DWG file only the Doors and Windows and few layers like the Text ones are translated with the name I chose. The other ones came as it is on ArchiCAD.
Does anyone here have the same problem? Does anyone know how to solve?</R>

We're having the same problem. All layers translate per the conversion table UNLESS they have an Existing or Demolition renovation status.

We do set custom Renovation Tags for Existing and Demolition elements (-E and -D Postfix). New element layers are not changed.

The layers are automatically renamed per the ArchiCAD Layer name, NOT the DXF/DWG Layer name.

Seems to me, for OUTPUT to DWG, the Layers should be named per the DXF/DWG Layer name.
