You need to be in ArchiCAD 3d window and then choose Save as.. to save into a 3d studio file which will give you the option to export the textures as well, also you will have an option save as U3D file to save into 3d PDF.

<T>I am wondering how to save a ArchiCAD file to 3DS format with the textures included in the model. The purpose is so that I can convert the 3DS model to a 3D PDF file. Everytime I try a different format I am not able to see the appropriate textures in the 3D PDF file. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!</T>

You can also publish to PDF and embed the previously saved U3D file. See Publishing options for PDF.

Watch out - the saved U3D file can be very large, and the PDF can become unwieldy.
