In the FILE MENU / Under Libraries and Objects / there is a selection called OPEN GDL OBJECT... here you navigate to your DWG file and it will begin creating an Object for ArchiCAD...

When you save it... it will ask a couple of question (regular object, window, door) and where to save..

Then this object will need to be placed in your plan...

<R>I was working in both solidworks 2010 and Archicad 14 and I wanted to import a custom desk into my Archicad file. I first tried a simple import but the object was a 2-D drawing within the 3-D mode. How do I export a file from Solidworks into Archicad and have the object show up as a regular 3-D image???

Thank You,
Nick</R>
