topic DWG translator and Jpegs in Collaboration with other software

<T>We have layouts with jpegs and pdfs on
-jpeg is our logo on the master
- pdfs are notes referenced from an excel file

These are only ever referenced (like an xref) so if the images aren't sent and filed the client/consultant won't see these is auotcad. Is there a way to bind them into the dwg?

The translator is set to single file output (settings attached).

Any help would be great.</T>

Re: DWG translator and Jpegs

Unfortunately, as you may have discovered, AutoCAD and the DWG format cannot embed any raster-type information. All images and PDFs must be separate linked files, called ImageRefs. When exported, they should link automatically as long as the images are in the same folder as the DWG.

Our office has revised our logo, and even signatures on the sheets to be a vector format (lines and fills), so they translate easily.

Just one reason I'm happy to not be using AutoCAD anymore!
