so, to sum up , interactive schedule is ok but not suffisant for some aspects yet.

<T>Hi!

Is the Interactive schedule meant to replace the "old" calculate lists ?</T>

No. It will not extract quantities from composites, among other things. But, it would be nice if it did, because the calc function is painful to be at one with.

This old post of mine (shown with Djordje's avatar) addresses some of the differences, but in answer to a broader question:
http://archicad-talk.graphisoft.com/viewtopic.php?t=798

The point from there is that the element (interactive) schedules can do 1-to-1 and many-to-1 listings. (The is one line in the schedule corresponds to either one element, or many similar elements).

The Calculate menu Lists allow that, but also 1-to-many listings, where a single element produces multiple lines/entries containing its constituent components.

Actually, as far as composites and complex profiled elements, ArchiCAD now has "component" schedules which will list each skin of the composite, etc without having to dip down into the old Calculate menu. So, we now have some limited one-to-many capabilities. See attached screenshot of one of the standard composite walls, with the standard "All Components" schedule.

Cheers,
Of course, you'll notice that these component schedules only give volume, not surface area of components. For a composite wall, the surface area is the same for all faces (ignoring solid element operations).

For a complex profiled wall, the length and/or surface area would be of interest, but only the length of the entire wall can be obtained. Otherwise, just volume. Useful for concrete assemblies, but not too useful for other materials. Lists have to be used to address anything beyond this.

Attached is a standard US template profiled wall example with crown and obscene base. You'll see in the schedule that only two volumes are shown because the same fill is used for the crown and base. To separate those out, a different fill needs to be assigned in the profile editor - either by choosing an existing fill, or duplicating an existing one and giving it a new name.
