Here is a possible workaround:
Select the whole imported IFC model with the thick marquee, copy it to the Clipboard, start a new ArchiCAD session and paste it into that.
Hopefully the Columns' data will get fixed during the paste operation.

<R>Hi,
Struct didn't place the model in the correct X-Y so I need to move the struct model. Usually I do this by making a fat marquee around the model and with the marquee tool I just drag the whole model to the new position. However all column are kind of stuck in theri base or top and they stretch instead ov move...see attach...pretty funny...
Any workaround?
