<T>We are a large residential housing company in Australia and are looking for an inexpensive CAD software package that is simple enough to be used by our sales consultants and with the ability to import plan data from our existing ArchiCAD master CAD files.

So far we have been testing Chief Architects "Home Designer Pro" with adequate results. The software is quite easy to use and can accept dxf import files for ArchiCAD.

The purpose of the software is to be able to modify and change a plan in front of a customer. Does not have to be in 3D

We do not require the file to be imported back into ArchiCAD as we would expect that the quality and accuracy of the drawing created by the Sales Consultant to be inaccurate for use.</T>

You might also have a look at SoftPlan. I used it years ago and it was pretty quick to do certain things. That was before it was Windowized so it may even be easier to learn now.

http://www.softplan.com/

They have a Lite version that may do everything you want.
