Not that I'm defending GS, but I've been told that the DWG-DXF Translator is developed by a 3rd party. And the developers have told me that my request(s) are on the "wish list" for future releases of the Translator.

Why not 3D Dwg with materials?

<T>I model in ArchiCAD and render in Max using 3ds format. Now I would like to use a feature called File Link Manager in Max, which only works with DWG format.
Now that's a problem since ArchiCAD doesn't assign materials to the geometry like it does with 3DS. Reassign every material in Max is a pain.

Why ArchiCAD doesn't export DWG with materials like it does with 3DS??

Thank you,
Ricardo</T>

We've been asking Graphisoft for the ability to export .DWG by materials for a while... We're still waiting.

So, are you Graphisoft reading this? I guess not...
