    <description>I think you expect an ifc for which it was not designed. The question is not how to achieve it with Archicad or any other software? The question is: is it an ifc designed to generate 2D deliverables as qualitative as Archicad's 100% dynamic 2D deliverables?&lt;BR /&gt;

The answer to this question is NO&lt;BR /&gt;
&lt;BR /&gt;
But maybe you can try to rough out the subject by tinkering with the parameters&lt;BR /&gt;
&lt;BR /&gt;
An ifc =&lt;BR /&gt;
- no quotes&lt;BR /&gt;
- no annotation&lt;BR /&gt;
- no texture in 3D&lt;BR /&gt;
- no shadow&lt;BR /&gt;
- a model that varies according to the reader for the same file&lt;BR /&gt;
- no cut&lt;BR /&gt;
- no plan&lt;BR /&gt;
- no facade&lt;BR /&gt;
- no nomenclature&lt;BR /&gt;
&lt;BR /&gt;
An ifc that has all this is very easy to export because it is a BimX file only via Archicad for over 6 years</description>

      <description>&lt;DIV class="actalk-migrated-content"&gt;&lt;T&gt;I have recently issued my first IFC for collaboration. I have used the inbuilt "Revit Export for Reference Model". The end user is able to "view" the model successfully as a reference but they can't display using true line weights without the associated pen weights being too thick &amp;amp; heavy. Any suggestions as to what is happening and if I can fix it please.&lt;/T&gt;&lt;/DIV&gt;</description>

      <description>The ifc exchanges require to wonder about the translator of export but also and on the translator for the import in Revit&lt;BR /&gt;

How did your ifc file translate to import?&lt;BR /&gt;
&lt;BR /&gt;
An IFC file is intended to transmit one or more information, an export without considering ALL the export translation parameters is irrelevant&lt;BR /&gt;
&lt;BR /&gt;
The same is true for the revit user who must correctly set the import translation of your IFC file</description>

      <description>Hi Cristophe, thank you for your response. The file was issued primarily for clash detection, so only the basic content was checked for relevance. Yes, I appreciate IFC can convey much more but a simple clash detection was all that was required.&lt;BR /&gt;

My original question was really how does IFC handle pen mapping? Unlike the AC DWG export I didn't see any pen mapping options in the "Revit Export for Reference Model". Do you know if the pen attributes of the element in AC are simply mapped across to those in Revit, for example Pen 1 is directly mapped to Pen 1 in Revit irrespective of weight? And if so, which of the many AC pen options in a 3D element does it use?</description>
