topic IFC Building Material Mapping in Collaboration with other software

<T>Hi,

I have been trying to get my IFC translator to pick up the building materials from my IFC and translate them to default ones but this is not working as expected.

I go to the material mapping tab then merge from IFC and it adds the new ones which I then select to Metal: Steel or Concrete: Precast.

After importing I still get new materials that were listed in my mapping translator scheme.

Any help would be appreciated. Maybe there are limitations and does not apply to complex profiles?

Another questions is why do my complex profiles come in rotated 90 degrees instead of straight up?

Thanks in advance.</T>

OK, Well I didn't realize I had to change Material import method for IFC material to: 'Override with Building Materials' and check use material mapping box.

Then it's like magic and it works 😃
