topic Updated merged IFC files in Collaboration with other software

<T>I am working with a client engineer who is using Revit, so we exchange files for reference via ifc. Since I am using Solo, I have been merging the ifc files (5, one for each engineering discipline) into my model. Works very well, but recently I tried to update those merged ifc files with new files form the engineer.

I ended up deleting all of the older merged content from my model, then merging in the new files. I tried "Detect IFC Model Changes", but I think that's intended more for ifcs exported from ArchiCAD then the updated file imported back in. Didn't really do what I needed.

Deleting and merging again works fine, except that I have to redefine layer combinations, and in some cases I have to adjust the settings of the merged elements to display properly. Deleting and re-merging means I have to do all that again.

So the question is, am I missing something, or is there an easier way?</T>
