Install the Twinmotion plugin for AC, and while you're at it give Twinmotion a try too (although you don't have to for this method). Then inside the 3D window in AC, choose save as, and find FBX format. Then in Max, link the file by using the Import menu under File, and create a link in Max. You can then update the AC file by resaving the same FBX and selecting update link in Max.
