Seems to me that you've found the best method (until GS makes it possible to change the layer combo in the schedule's view settings). It doesn't seem like much of a problem.

<T>Got a nice big door schedule, 150 doors or so. Unfortunately, can't edit them from the schedule. Saw the post about multiple doors with different elements that screw up the schedule, but this is single doors. I highlight the row, nothing is editable.
Exterior wall layer is on in the floor plan, and the layer is unlocked. i"ve opened the schedule from the project map.

Anybody have the same problem, or the solution.</T>

I had this problem where only one of the listing parameters was not editable -- I deleted it and re-added the parameter to the IS and now all is well. So my only suggestion (unfortunately) would be to recreate the IS.

Tom,

You might double-check just to make sure that a wall somewhere didn't accidentally get placed on a different layer and locked.

I am new to working with schedules, but I have encountered this same problem. It helps to show and unlock all layers when editing the schedule. I cannot seem to figure how to make this a permanent layer combo setting for the schedule. Unlike other View Map settings, my schedule settings don’t seem to allow selection of a specified layer combo.

You might also check that all of your doors have consistent parameters, go to the one in plan that is not allowing you to modify it (in schedule), and look at its parameters - do they/it match your other doors?

Would be cool if you could open the object dialogue from the schedule eh? Anyone know how to do this, short circuiting going to it's plan view?

Here is a work-around for getting the layer settings as desired for schedules, so that fields are editable. With other View Map views, it is possible to edit the layer combo in the settings window. Since zones don’t allow this (at least not for me), try this: Open the desired schedule. Set layer settings as desired (I use show & unlock everything). Save into View Map as a new version of the schedule. Delete the old schedule.

This seems to work without too much hassle and I can set my template this way. However, if there is a better method, I’d love to hear about it.
