The main problem I have had with imported dwg's lies with it's hatches command. You might have a hatch in the dwg that has its origing a couple of thousand miles away from the project, thus you cannot see the dwg. Possible solution is to "suspend groups" select the fill tool in the toolbox, do a CTRL+A (select all) and erase the fills. Nothing changed. Also noticed, that sometimes after opening the AutoCAD file has e.g. 20 layers, with something like automatic names (not given by human). Sometimes it opens normally (the file I am trying on is a simple 2D drawing)...
