How would you model/draft if you wanted no of items/m2?

Hi,
Thinking of a property with item density (ex five rattle snakes per m2).
I then want to create a BOS (Bill of Snakes) per area... say I have properties for 20 different snake species...
I'm going to learn expressions and have waited for a viable case...as in plants...bu snakes was more fun...
I can't seem to get fill area in expressions so I guess I need to resort to slabs or meshes.
Any idea/suggestion?

At least to my knowledge, 2d elements can't have Properties assigned.
I think the slab/mesh will be your best option...
And watch your step!

Thanks. I kind of knew that. I would like 2D elements to work though. We can solve it with Grasshopper but it's clumsy. I'll watch my steps...regarding the snakes. On the other hand If I use slabs I could end up with a rice plantation model and could fall and get hurt badly.

Zones are a big NO-NO since overlapping zones mess upp the quantities. I need to overlap these areas because the snakes wont keep to their turf even though they're told to...

You can exclude zones from other schedules by making a custom renovation status and pinning the zones to these. You can then use this renovation filter as a schedule criteria.

We deal with overlapping zones a lot. Fire safety zones, functional zones (residential, office, education etc), room functions and so on. The more specialised zones that don't show up on every drawing, we pin to their own renovation filter. Use the filter for your saved views for those drawings, and you are good to go.

Should we need this workaround? Probably not, but it's the best I could come up with

Thats a smart wo but I hate wo. Not suitable for the average users. We have the problem mainly with the total footprint area vs apartment area vs room area.
