DWG export for Dummies

I'm trying to send a DWG to an engineer and we're both pretty dumb. He says the DWG I'm sending him is blank.
What's the most bullet-proof no frills no nonsense method for translating to DWG for AutoCAD? What are the most common mistakes dummies like us make doing this?

The US version actually has a translator called DWG for Dummies

The INT version leaves that one out.
I don't know whether to feel insulted or complimented, but it sounds like exactly what we need.

I found the dwg export for dummies, hoping it would solve my problem. I don't consider myself a dummy, but I am working with an engineer who claims the dwg files he is receiving are locked, restricted, read-only and not editable even through copy clip and paste.

has anyone seen this happening? After 15 years of exclusive ArchiCad use I no longer have AutoCAD to test this behavior. I've never had that feedback from an engineer in 15 years. There have been other snags, but not in recent years.

Any insight on the possible issue is appreciated.
