If it is in MAX format, no. There is a plugin for 3DS import. Try converting the MAX to DXF.

What kind of object?

Along this line of thought.
I've imported a 3ds file into AC10 just fine.
Only now it's an Object. How can I convert
an Object into something editable?
Thanks,
Fuggedaboudit.

All you can do is scale it, either proportionally, or not.

You can use a Solid element Operation to cut off the extra bits, but that is it.
