Hello everyone,

I am having a bit of a problem while exporting a file to IFC, using the IFC4 schema.

If I select the Element Paramenters in Data Conversion to "All" or "Property-Type Data" it freezes the export.

If I select "Quantity-Type Data" all is fine.

This happens only with a certain file, I have tried this with another file and no problems.

Which property might cause the freeze?

Thank you

Hello

We've seen multiple cases where the calculation of Zone related properties can get very slow, e.g. "Colliding Zones".

Typically some complex, high-poly AC element/object causes this, when trying to find out which zones it collides with in 3d.

For a workaround you may try exporting portions of the model to IFC, and see if really some specific elements' export is the gamechanger.

Hello Adam, thanks for answering. After a lot of testing, I found that hotlinked ifc files were the cause of the freeze.

I had 2 external links which were hidden in the exported view but somehow blocked the whole process.

I removed the hotlinks and now I have no problems exporting with the option "All" for Element Paramenters in Data Conversion.
