Please do the steps I wrote.

The black items in the hierarchy tree (all items under IfcObject) are the various IFC Entities individual element instances placed in the model can be.

The green items in the hierarchy tree (all items under IfcTypeObject) are so-called type definitions. They enable you to organize the individual element instances into groups of types. My above example enables you to organize Doors into these types based on the name of the library plus their width and their height. Every combination of these three parameter will be a different type and individual instances will be grouped by their type in the resulting IFC file.

If a mapping rule involves a Library Part parameter which comes from a library part not loaded in the project, then the rule, the mapped IFC data, and the mapped IFC Entity data are all shown in RED COLOR.

The RED X icon indicates that you created an IFC Property or IFC Property Group at that level of the hierarchy and clicking it will delete it. Blue IFC Properties or IFC Property Groups were created at a higher level of the hierarchy and can be deleted only there.

You should check out the Help files about this.

Also, there is a free downloadable e-book on the Learn Portal called IFC Reference Guide for Archicad 26. It contains a lot more info than the Help files. Search for it in the Catalog and you will find it.

Hallo,

How to change the data in the Type and Type name IFC parameters?
By default it is set to the composite name + the thickness. Where can I change how this data is formed?

I can't find it in the IFC manager nor in the Translator Property Mapping schema.

Thank you!

Try to map the desired values to the "Name" IFC Property of the IFC Type under IfcTypeProduct under the IFC Scheme hierarchy.

In the below example, I did a mapping for Doors. I created a mapping to the "Name" IFC Property of IfcDoorStyle. The value will be the library part name of the Door, followed by " - " characters, followed by the value of a Property returning the width by height value of the Door in centimeters ("90x210" for example).

One note:

If you want to use IFC 2x3 for export, map to IfcDoorStyle and IfcWindowStyle under IfcTypeObject>IfcTypeProduct for mapping.

If you want to use IFC 4 or 4x3 for export, map to IfcDoorType and IfcWindowType under IfcTypeObject>IfcTypeProduct>IfcElementType>IfcBuildingElementType for mapping. (This is a difference between IFC 2x3 and later IFc versions.)

If you did it well, you will see the result in the IFC Project Manager:

Also, here is when I opened the exported IFC file in Blender and checked its Properties:

Thank you for your response Laszlo!
Unfortunately the name property gets mapped to IFC name. I'm looking on how to modify the "Type" and "Type name" fields.

You did it in the wrong place. See my first screenshot. On the hierarchy on the left, find the items with the green icons before their name (everything under IfcTypeObject), not the black ones (which are under IfcObject).

I'll try! May I ask what's the difference between the Green and the Red icons or if you know of an article that explains what's going on here?

In the meanwhile I managed to find that the Type gets the value of the Reference property in the *.Common pset. and I set it from there from the black icons.

The inner mechanics of mapping the properties to what gets seen in an IFC viewer are a bit unclear for me.
