Does anyone use project reviewer effectively and care to comment? I would like to work more remotely with my office.

Based on the multitude of replies you've received, I'm guessing.... not many??? ;o)

I have a similar query - testing how redlined DWF files from the Reviewer can be imported back to ArchiCAD for amendments.

The manual says:
"Redlined DWF files can be incorporated in the ArchiCAD file by using Project Mark-Up. See the next section for details. "

The next section says:
"Provided that the published files are saved in DWF format, non-ArchiCAD users can add further redlining with Project Reviewer. Redlined DWF format files can be sent to you by the reviewer. You can import these DWF files as a new Mark-Up Entry. "

To import the DWF the manual says:
"You can create new entries by clicking the red folder button ...... In addition, instead of creating an entry from scratch, you can choose to import a DWF file created in Project Reviewer for redlining the published Project."

I've done these steps and been able to select the redlined DWF file, but no elements appear at all....

Any help appreciated...

you should elaborate a bit more on what the problem is, what the error message is, what you are trying to do, etc. Please also include system and ArchiCAD version information.

I've just run into a problem on the client's browser when accessing a project site:

Graphisoft Reviewer now detects your Java Virtual Machine, please wait...

In the status bar it says:

Just for testing, I set the Internet Options/Security to Low,
and Reinstalled the Java VM from the ArchiCAD 9 USA CD

It is a Windows XP oon a Pentium IV machine.
The site works fine on my HP laptop and powerbook using either IE or FireFox browsers

There is not much more debugging I can think of.

It would be nice if they could do redlining online.

ok.....I got it to work .... but there are some bugs....but I think this can be a great tool.....for a couple of reasons....one of which...it can be set in your website and while your at a meeting with a client making notes...your coworks back at the office can be picking up changes...kinda sweet .... I think...

good for you.

It's a useful tool, if your client's browser doesn't hang in the JavaDetect phase. So you kind'a need to be careful and test it at the client first.

JavaDetectSilent -as the name implies:) doesn't tell you too much about what's his problem or how that can be addressed.

we use a laptop...which is great...I can preload everything...all need is a connect.....I also just discovered that you can import this into you RedLines....I am exploring this a little bit more....

Same here, I also love the -e-mail redlines- option.

The major benefit is the CONCEPT that the client only needs a browser.
In reality you have to set it up for the client, like the e-mail options can't be stored with the project on the server, so you have to do a dry run with each client to make sure it works.

So when it works-great, but when it doesn't, it's pretty hard to bring it to life. The Java applet gives little clue about why it hangs. Troubleshooting info is scratchy.
