Hi Chris,

Yes, we're testing the student version now. I expect it to be available within the next fortnight.
OBJECTiVE v2 released

<R>OBJECTiVE has had a significant update for v2. As usual, this is a free update to all registered users - just download and install the latest version (it won't ask for your registration code again). I know many have reservations about add-ons, so we've worked hard to eliminate potential problems:
Licensing

- No connection to hardware keys!
- No forced management of installation or usage!
- OBJECTiVE is licensed by user; purchase licenses for the number of concurrent users only, not the number of computers
- Install on any number of computers with a single code - single/5/10/site license options. Painless management for large sites.

Compatibility

- The update to ArchiCAD 12 will be free
- All our objects are written with standard, readable, GDL (compact too)
- All GDL objects continue to work without the add-on - you only lose the easy editing tools
- No information loss when archiving
- Objects transport to new ArchiCAD versions seamlessly
- OBJECTiVE can instantly upgrade old custom objects with the latest features!

Functionality

- OBJECTiVE provides you with tools to make what you want; not an automated process with limited possibilities.
- We aim to make OBJECTiVE work seamlessly within ArchiCAD, maintaing the same look and feel without trying to differentiate our product
- No interference with the way you manage projects, e.g. no required layers or other attributes.

What's New
The highlights of this release are:

- Bend tool: All objects with a constant cross-section – including custom profiles, steel, and timber objects – can be bent to a 3D curve. Elevation profiles can also be bent along their face
- Offset tool: An object can be inclined by specifying an overall rise rather than an angle. This is particularly useful for curved sections, so the rise is calculated along the curve length for objects like curved ramps or sloping curved walls.
- Revised objects: The entire library has had a facelift with clearer interfaces and new smart hotspots. A new <S></S>Regular Profile<E></E> object joins the line-up, which eliminates the need for creating many symmetrical custom profiles
- Extract Profile tool: Retrieve the profile shape at any time for on-the-fly changes. No messy attribute management!

You can see many of these new features in action on the product page: <S></S>http://www.encina.co.uk/objective.html<E></E>
Click on any one of the three images in the top row to watch a preview movie (some images below too). Some feel uncomfortable letting us have their email address to download the software, so we've removed that step too. For those who attended ArchiCAD University, don't forget you qualify for a discount! Contact us if you didn't get the details.</R>

Many thanks Ralph.

The improved interface is excellent.
Seamless installation as you said.

Your very clear intro should go a long way in
changing the minds of some "worry warts"
to invest in this suit of tools.

Some other 3rd party developers should
sit at your desk and take note.

Thanks Ralph,

I saw you demonstrate this at the ACUE Summer School and was truly impressed with the power of the tool. I've never seen anyone build an angled and sloped curve wall so easily!

Its there still plans for a student version on v2? If so is it available?
