Be sure your DWG Translator is set to save out the views/drawings placed in the Layout as "Paper Space with Full Drawings' content".

This is in the "Save Options" of the DXF-DWG Translation Setup dialog.

<R>When I convert, let's say a plan drawing from a pln file, to DWG.......open it in Autocad, and measure a known distance to check for accuracy, it is always correct.

However, when publishing the drawings in my layout book to DWG, they always open up in autocad as being scaled.

I understand that this is probably accurate, however, is there a setting that will allow me to send on the information I have gathered and created using the layout book, publish it to DWG, and when opened in autocad, have a 1'=1', 10'=10', 100'=100', and not have it scaled to 1/4"=1' or whatever it may be?

Using AC10</R>

If you are using the "Special Built-in Translator" by default it will insert the Layout entities as "Flattened Drawings" thus loosing their as-drawn scale properties.

Perhaps I need to explain what it is I'm trying to do.

I have a Layout book sheet, comprised of 3 floor plan view (lifesafety, accoustical, floor plan), some reference items, and a title block. The 3 drawings are set to display at 1/4" = 1'. Now when I publish as a DWG, it keeps that same scale, 1/4" = 1' (so as, when I measure an 8' wall in Autocad to check for accuracy it shows me that the wall is 2", which is correct.).

However, my issue is this, I need to be able to publish this Layout Book sheet to DWG, and when measuring that 8' wall for accuracy, it actually measures 8' and not 2" (which would be the 1/4" = 1' scaled factor).

Now, if I publish from the View Map or Project Map, it works as I need it. But then I do not get all the items I have built up in my layout book, along with the zoomed views that I need for this particular area of the building.

Any steps on how to achieve this would be appreciated. It seems as though it could be an average thing to accomplish, perhaps I am just missing the boat? I also understand the scale tool in autocad, however, I am really looking for a way to do it in the publishing process with Archicad.
Thanks!

In your translator settings use either Paper Space with Cropped Drawing or Paper Space with full drawing. This should place your layout in Autocad's Pspace tabs at the same scale defined in Plotmaker and the drawings in Model Space with their correct full size.

As mentioned earlier, I will elaborate...

Verify which DXF-DWG Translator you are using for the export. In the Publisher dialog/palette, select all of the Layouts that are being published, click the "Options" button under the "Format" section.

Do not use the default "Special Built-in Translator". Use or create a new Translator that has "Save Layout into:" as one of the "Paper Space" options.

In AutoCAD, use the "Model" and "Layout" tabs to navigate between the title block (Paper Space) and drawing entities (Model Space).
