There is a setting somewhere (I forget just now - am in the last throes of the flu) for the minimum opening size for reducing the wall area. This is because there are no savings in drywall, sheathing, etc. except for rather large openings (at least over 4' wide). Your door is probably smaller than the minimum. Resetting the minimum should fix it for you.

<T>I'm slowly manifesting the symptoms of the flu, so I blame my inability to find this answer on my internal germ warfare.

I have two identical walls of the same composite, width, height, and length. One of the walls has a door in it. When I generate an Element List using Quick Walls, the surface area of the two walls is identical -- the hole for the door isn't subtracted from the surface area. What the...?</T>

You can look at the Set Up List Schemes > Elements tab. There is an item for reducing Wall Quantities based on a minimum opening size.
Where is that menu? I haven't been able to find it. However, I pulled up the Element Information palette and found that the numbers there account for the doors and windows, but I still would like to know why the Element List isn't subtracting them.
I am using a modified ArchiCAD 9 Work Environment (this command is in ArchiCAD 9 and earlier), so for me it at Calculate > Set Up List Schemes... You may need to go into your Work Environment to add the Set Up List Schemes... command, I could not find it in the Standard Work Environment. I am attaching a screen shot of the dialog box. If this is not what Matthew was referring to, then perhaps he will provide more information.
