I am on an Intel based MAC.
I did try to copy the CD4Exporter into Importr/Export and In the Add-ons manager i get the red excalmation mark icon, and it says "The file is outdated ... cannot be used with this version of ArchiCAD"

I tried all of above on build 987 and 1010 INT, all the same...

The CD4Exporter sitis in the PPC folder only (as in, there is no such file in the Intel MAC folder) and the instructions say to copy the folder appropriate to the platform.
Still lost..

<R>Hello brains trust,
Did anyone have ANY luck installing the c4d exchange plugin for AC10 under OSX?
I downloaded the update from www.maxon.net and followed the PDF istructions. ArchiCAD seems to simply ignore the new plugin.
It odesn't show in tha add-on manager, and can't be loaded manually.
I tried all sort of tricks, different loactions in the add-ons folder (there are other add-ons with similar file structure to the c4d one - spellcheck for example) and still nothing.
Please help, especially considering that I went to MAC because it has been rammed down my throat how "things just work"...
Not offended, maybe just misread your intent.
Yes i do have the previous version, which works perfectly with V9.
The only file in the previous version (on AC side) is a "Cinema4d" plugin file located in add-ons/import/export of V9 instalation.
The V10 plugin info says: "decompress the .sit file and copy what comes out to add-ons folder".
I did just that and nothing.
Thinking that it is an upgrade, I copied the V9 plugin to addons in V10, at which point the plugin appears in add-ons manager, but reports as outdated.
I tried to put the V10 plugin to add-ons/local/frameworks (where a similar in sturcture spellcheck lives, and still nothing).

TIA
Big no-no. You might want to read the Etiquette page before you post. Most of us do real all the forums, usually via a Newsreader that just shows new posts.

While it's true that Mac things usually do "just work", that usually applies to things you buy from Apple. That does not mean Maxon, Graphisoft, or other software manufacturers all figured out how to write plug-ins to work in each other's software. That does not change on any platform <E>😞</E>

I just tried to ins tall it, and it worked fine. All you need to do on the Archicad end is drag the ArchiCad.bundle (Intel) or C4DExporter (PPC) file into your Archicad Add-ons directory. Was that what you did to install it?

How is it not working? Does AC4D not show up in the "Save As" options?

Mine is working fine. What I did was the following

1. Copy the C4DExporter file into the Import-Export Folder of AC10

In C4D it was a little more complicated since Maxon changed the extensions of the previous plugins but the procedure was the following

1. If C4D R9 installed copy the Archicad folder from the plug ins folder to the same folder in R10

2. In the AC folder erase the the 2 files named ArchiCADImport and copy the new ones.

Done

Now it should work

Tom,
OK, will not post anymore.

As it is an upgrade, did you do anything o the previous version plugin? Do you have a plugin file called "Cinema4d" within the V10?
Yes, that is exactly what I did to install it.
The AC4D does not show up in 2D or 3D window under File/SaveAs
Does Cinema 4d show up in your addons manager?
Any help is greatly appreciated.
BTW QT7 seems to be an Apple product and it can give you grief as well

Burginger,
Thanks for your interest.
There is no plugin icon in the finder.
I have the old plugin file called "cinema4d" which has the jigsaw/plugin icon.
The upgrade only gives me a folder structure with "unix executables" with gray icons. this will show you the file structure I have: http://www.geocities.com/iqnill/

Thanks again to all trying to help.
And a wink and a nudge to those who just ask irrelevant questions and disappear, you are important to me, without you the forum would be small and boring.
