<R>hi... this is my first post!!

ok the thing is that i am using archicad for 8 years now..but today is my 1st day with maxonform..I downloaded the tutorials from graphisoft website and started to practice it..

but in tutorial 5..the one with NHS offices? i draw a slab in archicad i select the option to edit it in maxon form... when i get to maxonform i only get one objects group "Archicad environment" and there is no slab!! i cant see it in maxonform and its not listed...

i even tried to select an existing slab in NHS offices in archicad together with a wall? in maxon form i have the wall as a separated object but not the slab!!!

and trying to edit a slab , the same way in another file it works!!! but i can't do it here!!! i can't create a slab and edit it in maxonform, even i can't select an existing slab and edit it in maxonform, i mean in maxon form the model will be there in Archicad environment but there is no other group of objects and the slab is missing!!

I don't know whats happening!!! please HELP!!! </R>

ok i was waiting for help..but i decided to continue the tutorial so i used a wall to continue and it was ok i mean i am not able to export an editable slab to maxonform " and still waiting for help" but i used a wall to continue the tutorial.. and it was ok.. i managed to work on it and send it back to archicad as an object.

now the next tutorial is to work on that object again in maxonform... but now i cant export an object!!!! (

Dear Whatever

You might want to include which version of the software and what hardware you are using, so <S></S>somebody<E></E> might be able to help.
Hi Whatever,
I had a crash course on Maxon a year ago or so and haven't used it since. Now I had to learn some basic stuff because I'll show it to some people this week. I searched the Internet for Cinema4D tutorials and found som really nice at c4dcafe and greycobra.com

I realized I'd rather create new elements than fiddeling around with objects from AC. I have no idea what your problem is about but try some of the C4D tuts. They're great!
C4D is by far easier than say 3DS...it's just different. 3D CAD and pure 3D are two different beasts totally.
I tested the bend deformer in the attached image. Pretty fun stuff!
Take Whatever cooling drink you have and chill off before you try again.
Cheers,
try using your own slabs etc...is the prob still there...
I have only used maxonform with ac9 & 10...there might be something with your ac version and its compatibility with MF

Have you selected the slab in the 3D Window before you export to MaxonForm? And have you selected the correct menu option ("edit selected in MaxonForm")?

What version of ArchiCAD and MaxonForm? Are you sure you are using two compatible versions?

Try to isolate the problem and reproduce it, starting from an empty file. There might be many little things that can get in the way.

and now working more on maxonform, i have questions about displaying in AC,

mm.. lets say i want a simple twisted building with a window in the middle

i discovered that the good way to do that is to have the walls and the windows in AC, go to MF"maxonform" twist it and go back, but this means that i will get distorted walls and connections!!

so i must do " subdivision" in MF and then twist it, but i can't do this with a wall contains a window!! i don't know something will go wrong with the window?

mm hope u can understand that? damn!! i forgot to take pictures of that!! if its not clear i will coz now i am not using my computer, but i guess u can handle this amigos!!!
