<R>Anyone has ever used Archline-xp ?
I have a demo cd and found out it is much like archicad, but VERY powerfull, with a lot o features that cover problems that archicad users wait for years to be solved.

The odd thing is the resemblance to archicad (program structure, dialogs and even mouse poiters are sometines identical to archicad)

the url is
http://www.archlinexp.com
but if you'd see the full working demo i have you'd be surprised !</R>

Simple!!! Sum all our wishes for walls and you are there!
Layers walls. Wall profiles. Great Lock feature.

I wonder why an archicad user has to wait so long to get such basic stuff!

Anyone has used it in production environment?
I've played with it for 4 hours and it seems to me that its not very versatile for 2d representation, selecting, fast editing of objects etc.

However 3d modeling is very good. Cannot compare to archicad wich needs workarounds for basic tasks.

You can download a demo and see it yourself.
I just downloaded mine and played around a bit.
It has some pretty interesting features. I took some snapshots from the help menu of functions that look interesting to me.No time to explain though.
From what I saw it handles the whole building similar to allplan which lacks IMHO comparing to archicad.
