<T>Hi all,
Does anyone know of a cheap way to save spline/polyline/line etc as an illustrator file? I want to take the basic outline of paths etc and extrude them in C4D. Unfortunatley C4D doesn't recognise 2D DWG but it does import illustrator files. I don't want to have to buy illustrator just for this simple export.
Any help or ideas would be great.
Cheers</T>

thanks

 shoulda read that more thoroughly.

have you tried using *.3DS as an intermediate format? instead of a polyline, you could draw a small polygonal wall and 'save as...' from the 3D window?

i have a vague recollection that there used to be a direct C4D exporter . . . i guess maxonform has knocked that on the head.
No worries.
I use the export direct from Archicad for 3D modelling and it works great(Maxonform is a bit of a sore point for me ) but what I need is basically 2D elements from Archicad into C4D. This enables me to map UVW textures etc directly in C4D with native splines/nurbs etc so I don't have to trace over 3D elements imported from Archicad.
If you don't use C4D it's a bit hard to explain the problem. Maybe I'm just getting lazy in my old age?
