IFC export, how to exclude stuff

I have -3, -4, mess stories where I put stuff I am working on, injection modules, things I copy paste for easy reference, etc. and I have the 3D window set to show stories -2 and above. How do I get them to not show in an IFC export? There are two problems: one is the elements in those stories, the other one is the stories themselves -- Story -4 gets exported as story 1 in the IFC file, even if it has no elements in it.

[And if I want to export a model of the structure only, with say only whatever shows in A-COLS, A-BEAM, A-SLAB? How do I do that?] <--I already found the 'export visible in all stories' filter.

Regarding export There is an option to export only what is visible.

Regarding the story problem, I've not found a setting for this. I put the pieces for custom library parts on a separate layer with its own layer intersection number on the first floor/story. Alternatively you could keep these parts in a separate file or .mod file.

The Archicad MasterTemplate uses the .mod method with great success. Using this technique has the advantage that you can turn on or off the module's master layer yet all of the components maintain their individual layers for use with the eyedropper.

The MOD method should do the trick for hiding the templates from the export process since you can turn off the master layer (I'm surprised this didn't occur to you after the work we did together publishing modules). The story problem may be a little tougher. Perhaps you could move your template modules up into the main building stories and use combos to turn them on and off.

Exactly
