Posting the same question to three different forums within minutes of each other is considered spam, at least by me... and I almost banned you from the forums. I am answering in the Library forum.

Please post once in the future, make your question as clear as you can, and always give the version of ArchiCAD and which OS (XP or OS X) you are using.
File menu ... from there, it depends on which version of ArchiCAD you are using... Open New Object, change file type to DWG, locate your dwg file, and choose the appropriate translator.

Only by opening a dwg file as an object (which is then of course saved as a gsm) can you see any 3D content in a dwg.
Just go to File>Libraries and Objects>Open Object... and open your dwg as an object. Then File>Save it as a GSM. This has the benefit of showing up in the 3D window.
Hello GOKLEO,

please follow the step:

1. Select your DWG (can be lines, 3D objects or what ever).
2. go to "File".
3. drop down menu " Libraries and objects"
4. "Save selection as".
5. save your file as gsm.
hope that helps.

Nope, that can't work, Starchi, as the only way to get 3D dwg content into ArchiCAD is via a GDL object using the method given here:
I don't know what to tell you Kleo - maybe try it again?

It's quite straightforward, but you may have to play around with the translator settings to have text, fills, & splines to appear correctly.

Not sure if figures, drawings, hotspots, S/E's or cameras are translated though.

Good luck.

Cheers,
Maybe your objects in autocad are made from solids? In this case, you get blank in ArchiCAD. I think you have to save them in 3DS in autocad, to be able to import in Archicad.

Another way is also possible. Open your DWG in Google Sketchup, save it and then import in ArchiCAD via Sketchup plugin. Hope it helps.
I think I found out something that nobody told me:

ArchiCAD can't open DWG file made in AutoCAD later than 2000. So, I think that file in AutoCAD should be saved as in AutoCAD 2000.

And than I will SEE dwg file in ArchiCAD and than I can make it .gsm file.
